Validation is a fast track to employment. If you have previous experience as an electrician but lack the grades or certifications required for a job, you can validate your skills with Trainor. Validation is a way to demonstrate and verify your knowledge.

Goal
After successful validation, you will be qualified to work as an electrician in Sweden.
Target group
This is for individuals who have worked in the industry but lack documentation of their skills. The validation process is also aimed at those who have worked in a country other than Sweden and need to identify which areas require supplementation to qualify for work as an electrician here.

How does the validation process work?
We are certified by the Electrical Industry’s Central Professional Committee (ECY). The assessment is conducted according to ECY's national validation model. The purpose of the validation is to evaluate your skills in a systematic and fair manner. A validation highlights all the areas where you are competent, making it clear to installation companies what you are capable of.
If you successfully pass all aspects of the validation, you will receive a professional certificate according to the Electrical Industry’s Central Professional Committee’s (ECY) national validation model. This certificate is recognized within the industry and can be used when applying for jobs. After working for three months as an electrician at a Swedish installation company under the installation agreement, you can apply for your ECY certificate.
Validation process
- Start: You receive information about the validation process, including the tests and how your skills will be assessed. You’ll also learn about opportunities for supplementary training and skill development after the validation, as well as the estimated time required.
- Mapping: We document and evaluate your professional background.
- Assessment: We test your knowledge, skills, and abilities according to the validation model from the Electrical Industry’s Central Professional Committee (ECY).
- Documentation: Upon full qualification, you receive a certificate of competence, or a competence statement with a recommendation for supplementary training. The competence statement shows what you can do. The supplementary recommendation outlines the competencies that are not met and provides suggestions for appropriate training initiatives.
