Goal

After the course, you will understand Standard 50110-1, how to plan work, various working methods, and the organizational measures needed to prevent electrical accidents and operational disruptions.

Target group

The course is aimed at those working in environments with a risk of electrical hazards. You might, for example, be an electrician, janitor, property manager, or work with industrial, mining, or distribution facilities.

Subjects covered in the course

During the training, we review the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority’s regulations and general advice on electrical safety in professional operations, the European standard SS-EN 50110-1 (Operation of Electrical Installations), and the handbook Working with Electrical Risk.

We cover how electrical safety work should be organized and raise participants' awareness of the electrical risks that may arise in an electrical installation. The training includes access regulations, work organization, and respect for safety distances as determined by the Operational Manager/Electrical Safety Leader for the installation or work. Risk management and the assessment of electrical safety for one’s own tasks are also discussed.

In the Electrical Safety at Work course, we go through various work methods with and without voltage, within and outside the vicinity zone, as well as the risks of working near parallel conductors. We also review the regulations and general advice on the owner's inspection of electrical installations and devices.
