The course begins with a half-day of online theory, followed by a two-day in-person session with practical exercises. Before the in-person training, you will get access to two preparatory eLearning modules: Electrical Safety at Work – Production and Maintenance Personnel and Pre-Commissioning Inspection.

Goal

To enhance knowledge in order to safely perform basic electrical work and help prevent minor production stoppages. Participants will be able to troubleshoot and replace motors, contactors, frequency inverters, sensors, and similar devices.

Target group

Mechanics, maintenance personnel, repair technicians, and others who work hands-on with electricity but are not certified electricians.

Subjects covered in the course

  • Electrical safety and the dangers of electricity
  • Basic electrical concepts, e.g. Ohm’s law, series and parallel circuits
  • DC circuits and single-phase AC circuits, protective devices
  • Three-phase AC circuits
  • Structure and function of the electrical system – from transformer to load
  • The function and role of the protective earth conductor
  • Permanent connection and disconnection of electrical equipment
  • Electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, circuit diagram reading
  • Measuring voltage, current, and resistance, as well as performing insulation testing
  • Control technology, sensor technology
  • Connecting and disconnecting motors
