Goal

After completing the course, you will have a solid understanding of how to act to ensure a safe working environment and traffic safety.

Target group

Step 2.2 is intended for those who will be responsible for the marking of roadwork sites, including both setup and dismantling, as well as maintaining signage during the roadwork. Participants who complete Step 2.2 training are also qualified to supervise traffic controllers, pilot vehicles, and temporary traffic lights.

Personnel with Step 2 competence are authorized to lead and instruct personnel with Step 1 competence.

The training is also suitable for other professions that should have this competence, such as site managers, personnel with Bas-U responsibilities, supervisors, and traffic engineers.

Subjects covered in the course

  • Application of current legal requirements (Traffic Ordinance - TrF, Road Signs Ordinance - VMF, Work Environment Act - AML, and Road Act - VägL).
  • Application of the Swedish Transport Administration's regulations for traffic and safety equipment as well as traffic management.
  • Function and limitations of energy-absorbing protection systems and the ability to install them in accordance with the manufacturer's installation instructions.
  • Performing daily inspections and self-checks, as well as documenting inspections and controls performed.
  • Leading and instructing personnel with Step 1 competence.
  • Application of the current work environment plan, task planning, or drawings showing how traffic and safety equipment should be placed at the worksite.
  • Placement of traffic and safety equipment to ensure a safe working environment, high safety standards, and acceptable traffic flow for road users.

The Traffic Ordinance, the Road Signs Ordinance, the Work Environment Act, the Road Act, along with associated regulations and provisions.

Competence

The course requires competence in accordance with Step 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3.
