An explosion can occur without warning, and the process happens very quickly. This course covers the applicable regulations and directives, as well as how to meet the requirements by, for example, following standards and guidelines.

Target

The course provides a solid understanding of the safety requirements for working in hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres. It addresses the applicable regulations and directives and explains how to comply with them, for instance, by adhering to relevant standards and handbooks.

After completing the course, you will have a thorough understanding of the applicable regulations, including AFS 2023:10 and SRVFS 2004:7, issued to align Swedish legislation with international standards. You will also understand how to meet the requirements by using various standards and handbooks and gain insight into the safety requirements for working in hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres.

Target group

Operational and maintenance personnel, as well as technicians, engineers, supervisors, and consultants working in or about to start working in areas with explosive atmospheres.

The course provides thorough knowledge of the safety requirements for working in hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres. We cover applicable regulations and directives, as well as how you can meet the requirements by, for example, following standards and handbooks.

We explain the meaning of the rules regarding "Equipment for explosive atmospheres" under the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, how zoning can be conducted, and what an Explosion Protection Document should contain. We go through the applicable regulations and directives, as well as how to meet the requirements by following various standards and handbooks.
