In facilities where explosive atmospheres may occur, a risk assessment and zone classification must have been conducted, and an explosion protection document for the facility must be created. It is also crucial to select the right equipment and safe working methods. The ATEX User Directive for working in explosive environments has been mandatory since July 1, 2006.

After completing the course, you will have gained deeper knowledge about the safety requirements in hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres.

Operational and maintenance personnel, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and consultants working in or preparing to work with installations in explosive atmospheres.

The course provides solid knowledge of the safety requirements for hazardous areas with explosive atmospheres. We cover applicable regulations and directives and how to meet these requirements by following standards and guidelines.

We explain the meaning of the regulations regarding "Equipment for explosive atmospheres," in accordance with the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, how zone classification is performed, and what an Explosion Protection Document must include. The course also reviews applicable regulations, directives, and how to comply with them by using standards and handbooks.
