Installation electricians

The program combines theoretical distance learning through our learning portal with hands-on lab sessions at the school. In total, there are 5 lab weeks during which you’ll put theory into practice. The lab weeks are spread out over the first year, and if you are admitted, you’ll receive a clear schedule for your entire program. The program also includes 15% work-based learning (APL). We encourage you to start looking for an APL placement early in the program. If you complete the entire program, it comprises a total of 1,500 high school credits, including adult education coursework, which is equivalent to 1.5 years of full-time study. We have our own web-based learning platform where you’ll find your courses, study schedules, and information about the learning objectives and requirements you must meet to earn a passing grade. The learning platform provides support and other information you’ll need throughout the program. During the program, you will use various simulation programs, so you must have access to a computer (PC) running the Windows operating system. Good to know: To work as a service and installation electrician, employers may require you to have an ECY certificate. To apply for the ECY certificate, you must have completed an electrician training program (1,500 credits) and have passing high school grades in Swedish, English, and Mathematics. Upon completion of the program, you will have both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to work with the maintenance and installation of electrical systems—from new installations to troubleshooting and modernization—in environments where functionality and safety are always the top priorities.

• In-depth knowledge of electrical theory, electrical safety, and the safety requirements applicable to electrical installations

• Ability to interpret the function of alarm and security systems based on schematics, drawings, and other instructions

• Skills in planning, installing, and commissioning communication networks for telecommunications, data, and media Knowledge of concepts in measurement technology

Completion of elementary school. We also recommend that students have passed the first high school course in Swedish, English, and mathematics.
