Please note that on May 30, 2022, the Swedish Work Environment Authority postponed the certification requirement by 3 years. The knowledge requirement according to AFS 2017:3 remains in place. The new start date for personal certification is December 1, 2025.
Although the requirements for personal certification have been postponed, the knowledge requirements remain. With AFS 2017:3, the need for training for boiler operators has increased. Therefore, Trainor and AFRY are joining forces in a collaborative effort to offer training in preparation for certification.
When you book an instructor-led training, whether it's an open course slot or an on-site corporate training at your location, you have the opportunity to take the certification exam in conjunction with the course. The certification exam is conducted in collaboration with the certification body RISE.
Currently, there is a shortage of certified boiler operators, which means that boiler plants may face shutdowns when the regulations come into effect. Even worse, operation and maintenance may be carried out by unauthorized personnel, increasing the risk of personal injury and production loss. Failure to comply with the regulations may result in employers having to pay sanctions.
Our course catalogue includes e-learning courses and classroom course based on the different types of boilers described in AFS 2017:3. The e-learning courses are designed for experienced boiler operators who need the theoretical knowledge to pass certification.
Our classroom course, Pannoperatör i praktiken lasts 2 days and, in addition to preparing participants for the upcoming certification, covers operation, energy and heat theory, protection and safety, and various types of boiler installations.
We also offer two e-learning courses: one for Kategori 1-4 and one for Kategori 3-4. These courses are included with the purchase of their respective classroom courses.

Note: On May 30, 2022, the Swedish Work Environment Authority announced that the requirement for personal certification for operators of boilers in categories 1 to 4 will come into effect on December 1, 2025. This is a three-year postponement. Please note that the knowledge requirements described in AFS 2017:3 still apply.
Through the certification body RISE, you can take the certification exam during your training session with Trainor. The certification is issued after the theoretical exam. The employer must also ensure that the boiler operator has the knowledge and skills required to operate the specific boiler.
