The ATEX directive is an EU standard that regulates the use of equipment and protective measures in explosive atmospheres. By taking an ATEX course, you will be well acquainted with the laws and regulations of the directive.
The Swedish work environment authority's regulations state that the employer is obligated to ensure that anyone in an explosive atmosphere or performing work that may affect explosion safety must receive training in, and have knowledge of, explosion risks and protective measures. The training requirement applies to all personnel, including operating, maintenance, and cleaning staff, as well as temporary visitors and contractors. For temporary visitors, a shorter safety briefing may be sufficient if they are accompanied by a guide.
