An alarm and security electrician generally works in an electrical engineering company and the main occupation is usually installations of various kinds. There is a great breadth of tasks within the profession. This means that you need to have good basic knowledge in the field of electricity.

The training for alarm and security electricians is broad, and once you enter the workforce, you may hold titles such as telecom technician, installation electrician, or cable technician.
The work includes installing and servicing data and telecom networks, cable TV, intrusion and fire alarms, access control systems, and surveillance equipment. You may also work with commissioning and programming of systems.
In short: the job ranges from cable installation to programming and requires solid knowledge of electrical installation and security technology.
Approved Compulsory Education. We also recommend passing the first courses in Swedish, English and Mathematics from Upper Secondary Education.
If you complete the entire program, it totals 1500 credits, including the municipal adult education project (Komvuxarbete).
You will alternate between studying our online courses remotely and attending the school in Sundsvall or Solna. The program includes 15% workplace-based learning (WBL).
We have our own web-based education portal, where you can access your courses with study schedules and information on the goals and requirements needed to pass. The education portal also provides support and additional information you need during your studies.
In the program, you will use various simulation programs, so you must have access to a computer (PC) with a Windows operating system.
