Authorised electrician / electrical contractor is a regulated profession in Sweden.
To carry out electrical installation work, you must hold official authorisation from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority (Elsäkerhetsverket), based on approved education and documented practical experience.
Authorisation defines what electrical work you are allowed to perform and enables you to take responsibility in line with Swedish electrical safety legislation.
A distance learning course that provides the theoretical knowledge required to apply for Authorisation AL from the Swedish Electrical Safety Authority (Elsäkerhetsverket).
With Authorisation AL (low voltage) – previously referred to as ABL – you are authorised to carry out all electrical installation work in low‑voltage systems up to 1000 V. This allows you to start your own electrical installation company or work as an Electrical Installer for Compliance within an electrical installation company.
The course is conducted in Swedish.
This instructor‑led distance learning course runs for approximately 8 weeks and is delivered through self‑study, live online sessions 1–2 afternoons per week, as well as one on‑site session in Sundsvall.
The course is intended for those who already hold Authorisation AL (low voltage) and provides the theoretical knowledge required to apply for Authorisation A, which covers all electrical installation work in both low‑ and high‑voltage systems.
